1. Fabric ?

Fabric

Choose your favourite fabric. For more information on colors, use and care see our Recommendations.

2. Fit ?

Fit

Select a fit for your shirt.

A typical dress shirt has a slim fit and narrow armholes for a comfortable wear under the suit jacket. The silhouette depends on a man's body type.

Slim fit accentuates your body features and is recommended for slender men. With its narrow sleeves such a shirt fits your body perfectly. Slim fit shirt goes without a yoke (№10).

Normal fit is the most common type of a shirt. The right choice for those who prefer freedom of movement, allowed by several spare centimeters in cut.

Loose fit diminishes imperfections. Is recommended for thick men. The cut is straight and sleeves are wide enough to allow freedom of movement.

3. Collar ?

Collar

Choose a collar for your shirt. A shirt collar frames the face, which is considered to give the first impression to people. For that reason it is important to accentuate the shape of your face with the right collar. Follow our guide to decide which collar style fits you best.

  1. Classic collar is for men with rounded facial features. Is not recommended for narrow faces for it will only accentuate its narrowness. Goes well with double-breasted coats and pinstripe suits. Small tie knots are suitable for this collar style.
  2. Standard collar is suitable for all occasions and fits any suit. It is the basic staple of any man's wardrobe. Is the best option for office days and business trips. Fits all the face types, narrows a wide countenance.
  3. Classic spread collar with the wide opening between its points is quite popular. Looks best with large knots of either wide ties or ties from heavy fabrics. A bow-tie is appropriate as well. Is usually worn for formal occasions. Fits all shape faces.
  4. Wide spread collar is a stylish variation of the classic spread with the maximum opening between its points. Appropriate for formal occasions and important business functions. Goes well with long necks and oval shape faces. Fits thin people of a low stature; visually widens shoulders and check-bones.

You can choose a white collar in contrast to the shirt fabric.

4. Sleeve ?

Sleeve

Choose the sleeve type for your shirt. A long sleeve (standard length sleeve with cuff options) is the best choice for a normal or loose fit shirt worn under the suit. Slim fit shirt looks best with long narrow sleeves. In summer short sleeves without cuff are appropriate for a shirt worn with a tie. Short sleeve with a cuff is less formal. Roll up sleeve (a long sleeve with an option to fold it up when necessary) is recommended for casual clothing. In this case there are no cuff options; the cuff is square with one button.

5. Cuff ?

Cuff

Select a cuff style of your shirt. The cuff options depend on a sleeve type you choose. Shirt cuff should extend at least 1-1,5 cm past the jacket sleeves. A cuff should form an integral unit with a hand. Cuff should be tight enough but not catch on the watch. You can select between the following cuff styles:

  • Single-button cuff is a traditional cuff with one button.
  • Double-button cuff is a tradiitonal cuff with two buttons.
  • Convertible cuff has a button and two holes to push the button through either of them. It allows to regulate the cuff width and provides additional comfort.
  • French cuff is fastened with cufflinks (instead of buttons).

Cuff options are unavailable for a roll-up sleeve.

6. Fastening ?

Fastening

Choose a fastening for your shirt. It can be with a placket or without it. In case of a fastening with hidden buttons only the upper button is seen. Traditional fastening is better for a classic shirt. Fastening with a placket is recommended for those who prefer casual wear. Hidden buttons are appropriate for solemn occasions.

7. Pocket ?

Pocket

Decide on the pockets of your shirt. There can be one or two pockets with rounded or cut bottom corners. You may choose a flap if you wish. Rounded or square pocket or «no pocket» option is the best choice for a classic shirt. Double pocket is appropriate for undress clothing.

8. Bottom Cut ?

Bottom Cut

Choose a bottom cut of your shirt. The square-like bottom is the best option for shirts to stay tucked in if the dress shirt is long enough. A tail cut is better for a shirt worn outside trousers. Its front and back parts are rounded and longer than the sides.

9. Epaulettes ? ()

Epaulettes

Add epaulettes to your shirt if you wish. Epaulettes are recommended for service shirts and sports shirts.
